Siyavar Ramchandraji Ki Jai
Introduction doha 2
The second doha is all about meditation through surrendering to the power and energy of Hanumanji. Recognising that we actually don't know as much as we think. We ask for strength and intelligence to absorb, understand and apply (spiritual) knowledge. All this is only possible with a clean body and mind.
Intro Doha 2 Second Couplet | English translation |
---|---|
Buddhi Heen Tanu Jaanike | | Knowing myself to be ignorant |
Sumiro Pavan Kumaar | | In remembrance of the son of Pavan Kumaar |
Bal Buddhi Vidya Dehu Mohi | | Give me strenght, intellegence and knowledge |
Harahu Kales Vikaar | Take away all the impurity and sickness |
Buddhi Heen Tanu Jaanike | | Knowing myself to be ignorant |
---|
Buddhi Heen Tanu Jaanike |
Very often people think that 'Tanu' stands for 'You'. But it doesn't. Because with that reasoning we would call Hanumanji inferior (low) in intelligence. That's not right. Hanuman Chalisa is written in Devanagri with words corresponding to Sanskrit. Tanu means 'weakened' in this shokla. This first shokla begins with recognizing that we don't actually know as much as we think. Recognizing our ignorance.
Buddhi = Intelligentie
Heen = minder, kleiner, inferieur
Tanu = Verzwakt
Jaanike = begrepen

Sumiro Pavan Kumaar | | In remembrance of the son of Pavan Kumaar |
---|
Sumiro Pavan Kumaar |
Pavan (vayu) the deity of wind played an important role in the life of Maruti (Hanumanji). Pavan is known as the godfather, protector of Maruti. In fact, with the respect that Vayu has among the Gods, Maruti has been brought back to life after being struck by Indra's lightning bolt! Soon you will be able to read this story on our website, how Hanumanji got his name.
Sumiro = stands for remembering and thinking about.
Paavan = Pavan, also known as Vayu and Vata. He is known as the godfather, protector of Hanumanji.
Kumar = Kumar means boy and/or son.
Bal Buddhi Vidya Dehu Mohi | | Give me strenght, intellegence and knowledge |
---|
Bal Buddhi Vidya Dehu Mohi |
This shokla asks for the strenght and intelligence to absorb, understand and apply knowledge.
Bal = power
Buddhi = intelligence
Vidya = knowledge
Dehu =to give
mohi = me

Harahu Kales Vikaar | Take away all the impurity and sickness |
---|
Harahu Kales Vikaar
Spiritually speaking, Kalesh represents a state of mind that clouds the mind of a person (taking it out of balance) and negatively affects a person's actions. Impurities of the mind. Think of thoughts that can influence the mind such as fear, anger and sadness. Vikaar in Ayurved means disease/disorder. Spiritually this is linked to attachment, ego, lust etc..
Harahu = take away
Kales = impurities
Vikaar = disease
This shokla starts with the word Harahu. So we meditate to remove all kalesh and vikaar to keep our body and mind mind clean, so we can meditate with the energy belonging to Hanumanji.
