Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Rooh Baba is back with an entertaining movie this Diwali. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is about Rooh Baba (Ruhaan Randhawa) who cons people in making them believe he can perform exorcisms. He takes on a job in a haunted castle, with a vengeful spirit who got burned alive by the members of the kingdom of few decades ago. Will history repeat itself?

Main cast
Madhuri Dixit (as Mandira and Anjulika), Vidya Balan (as Mallika and Manjulika), Kartik Aryan (as Ruhaan 'Rooh Baba' Randhawa) and Tripti Dimri (as Meera).

Bhool Bhulaiyaa | Movie Review

This movie only got carried to a hit  because of two stars and they are Superstar Legend Madhuri Dixit and the woman who can carry her own film to a super hit Superstar Vidya Balan. Yet these two gems don't have much screen time. The climax of this movie is better than the whole movie itself. The performance of Kartik Aryan in the climax makes you wonder why his talent is only limited to mimicking Akshay Kumar. Just to have a romance angle they presented Tripti Dimri. I feel this role does not do her justice. It was just there so 'Ruhaan and Meera' could have a romantic angle, but all the romantic songs between them were random. Considering the climax, Meera did not have enough dept in her story and character. Kartik Aryan can be seen lovable in this movie. It should be a kids movie, because this movie would be really fun for kids to see.
Apart from the fact that his acting in this movie resembles Akshay Kumar, he did a good job delivering comic suspense. Not everyone can pull that off. He should get his credit for that.

The Durga Mata theme was really good! It looked really cool and was really beautiful presented in the movie. I must also say that the movie was on the verge to be insulting to everyone who falls under the definition of hindoes. I know it is a comedy and horror movie, but if we see how the Bade Pandit (Sanjay Mishra), Chotta Pandit (Rajpal Naurang Yadav) and Panditayeen (Ashwini Kalsekar) are portrayed combined with the cons he did on a specific type of Indian it may be seen as insulting. There are a lot of Indians with different kind of backgrounds, and a lot of them believe in bad spirits, but only one type was shown. The overal Hindu stereotypes that they showed would be good for kids to watch. They could have done something really beautiful with Durga Mata and the plot (story) that they had, but it lacked a bit with the average jokes. And the Hanuman Challis thrown in it for a few seconds. The only good things that saved this movie is ones again the ladies Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan, combined with the climax and Sonu Nigam's voice.

The title song is unnecessarily sung by so many singers, including the talented Pitbull. India has a lot of talented singers, promote the song as sung by the gem Diljit Dosanj and Neeraj Shridhar, get some new Indian artist to sing the song, why overly depend on the hype of the west, when Desi Ghee has enough dum! Instead of the extra love songs, they could have made a beautiful Durga Mata or Lakshmi Mata song and release it, just as the 'Hare Ram, Hare Krishna, Hare Ram' vibe. The only songs that had some meaning and purpose in the movie were Ami Je Tomar 3.0 (sung by Shreya Ghoshal), the second part of Hukkush Phukkush and Mere Dholna 3.0 (Sung by Sonu Nigam). The first part of Hukkush Phukkush is great for the children audience. We should not forget that now a days Indian Cinema does not make a lot of children movie, so it is wonderful to see that they made this effort.  I am glad the Mere Dholna song is not sung by Arijit Singh, because honestly Sonu Nigam took this song to the next level. Sonu Nigam deserves more credit.

Very interesting was the climax of this movie making the guessing of who is Manjulika and who is Anjulika interesting. It was actually very clear who is Anjulika and who is Manjulika, but the engagement in this movie was how the whole story came together. The focus was on the two sisters, but it was interesting knowing how it all came together. The scene with Meera was just there to give her some importance, but It was unnecessary. Bhool Bhulaiyaa gives Tripti Dimri the exposure she needs, but feel like a small role that does not do her justice. Every other main cast member got depth to their character. The ending was really inspiring and unique.

We can all agree that Bhool bhulaiyaa 1 is the original trend setting movie, and can not be compared to the other parts made. Viewing the 3the part of this franchise it is much better than the second part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. This movie is carried by the stars Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan and the climax makes this movie extremely relatable and special. I am very disappointed that they wasted screen time on a useless romantic angle between Kartik Aryan and Triptii Dimri, and songs that do not match their chemistry. We can see that Madhuri Dixit is taking a step back in the movie, giving respect and credit to Vidya Balan as the original lead actress of this movie. It shows class and professionalisme from both the actresses as Vidya Balan is giving her respect back acknowledging that Madhuri Dixit is The Dancing Queen of Indian Cinema.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa in rating this movie!

Giving this movie less stars will be an insult to the big stars Madhuri Dixit's and Vidya Balan's acting and presence in this movie. They carried the movie till the end, but came really late on screen and did not have much time on screen.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌗 3,5 out of 5 stars only because of the two actresses, the climax and the Mere Dholna song of Sonu Nigam.

This movie is good to watch one time, phirbhi you will leave the cinemahall wishing Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan had more screen time.
